We have been in the service of the ailing since 1905. National Pharma (Agencies) has a very strong history dating back to 1905, when Beliram & Brothers started operations at Anarkali, Lahore, then part of west Punjab. At the time there were no indian manufacturers of medicines, so most of the Pharmaceutical demand in the Country was met by importing medicines and making them available to people in India. Towards this objective the firm became the largest importer and reseller of medicines in these parts of the Country,making medicines available to people at affordable rates.

The firm finds prominent mention in Pran Nevile's bestseller "LAHORE a sentimental journey" , to quote -
Among the other famous shops of Anarkali,I would like to single out that of the chemists Beli Ram & Bros. , the biggest firm of druggists in the Punjab. After partition in 1947, Pakistan authorities prevailed upon one of the family members to stay on in Lahore to run the establishment, there being no Muslim Chemists good enough to meet the demand.(The gentleman being Mr.Balak Ram Mehta, grandfather of the promoter). In the early part of the 19th century the firm pioneered the practice of making medicines available to patients,doctors and pharmacies 24x7 through it's nationally famous outlet at Bazaar Anarkali, Lahore. After the partition of the Country in 1947 there was a family division and Pharmaceutical distribution was started under the banner of "The National Pharmacy" with branches at Lucknow, Kanpur, Amritsar, Ghaziabad and Faridabad with the Principal and head office being at Delhi, thus pioneering the concept of distribution chains in these parts of the Country at that time.

Our Business

The present avatar took root in 1979 under the name National Pharma (Agencies) and had it's humble beginnings from Ansari Road, New Delhi with distribution rights of just one Company at the time "Hoechst Pharmaceuticals Ltd." The plunge to start the agency was taken by a young man on the go-Vinay Mehta, with little resources and no support. The only source of unstinted support over all these years has come from his better half Kabula.
